I Didn't Require Stitches After Womb Steaming For Labor Prep!

Updated: Oct 3, 2020

I owe this entirely to the steaming preparation that I had done beforehand.⁣ After steaming for postpartum during my six week checkup my doctor said that I had healed completely and that my Uterus had gone back to its original size and position (very good for 6 weeks as it can take much longer) ⁣

Labor Prep Womb Steam Testimonial - Hayley F, a real-life superwoman

I began steaming for labor prep at 37 weeks. I got the go-ahead from my doctor.

I had a very thorough, private consultation with Liberty and soon after began my beautiful steaming journey.

I followed the step by step protocol and listened to her dietary advice as well as her tips that she shared to help prepare me both physically and mentally for birth.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Having a toddler and still currently working, I thought I would struggle to find the time every day, however, I found that it quickly became a lifestyle and a way of life for me. It never once felt like a burden or a hassle, it was the time of day that was “ME Time,” a quiet space where I would go each day to prepare for the big day! ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Steaming went hand in hand with my Hypnobirthing, a daily ritual that I very much looked forward to.⁣⁣

At 38 weeks, I went for my routine checkup with my OB, he said that the baby had descended and that I was 2.5 cm (feeling no pain!) I continued diligently with the practice for another 2 weeks, this time switching up the herbs to the cleansing herbs and upped the dosage. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

At 40 weeks I went into labor and gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl via an unmedicated natural water birth using the hypnobirthing links that Liberty had shared with me. It was a total of 2 hours and 25 mins! I did not require stitches and I owe this entirely to the steaming preparation that I had done beforehand.⁣”⁣

Postpartum Womb Steam Experience

⁣⁣

I began the steaming a day after I had given birth. I was discharged from the hospital 6 hours after the birth and got the go-ahead from my doctor to proceed with my post-partum steaming journey. ⁣

It felt really soothing, relaxing, and uplifting. It most certainly helped with the swelling and over time I think it contributed to the reduction of my uterus, it reduced in size a lot faster than it did with my first birth (when I had not steamed.)⁣

I healed almost immediately this time around, I was up and running after my toddler and in a lot less pain. I too felt that it cleared out the lochia at a much faster rate, I bled for only 2 weeks, where I bled for nearly 6 with my first.⁣

I started doing very light pelvic floor exercises and I felt that steaming helped support this, I did not suffer from any incontinence and other pelvic floor issues as I believe that my uterus and cervix had returned to its proper place faster.⁣

A big thing that I had noticed too was my increased milk supply. My milk came in on Day 2…my milk did not come in until Day 4 after my first birth. I too had an abundance, I currently am able to pump 10 ounces in 10 mins, where I could only get 2 ounces before. I feel that it had a positive impact on my hormonal balance as well, I feel a lot more Calm, centered, and in control.⁣

At my six week checkup my doctor said that I had healed completely and that my Uterus had gone back to its original size and position (very good for 6 weeks as it can take much longer) ⁣

I told him that I had steamed, he said that it definitely could have contributed.
